Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of UAP Finder. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the platform. You must be 16 or older to create an account.
Your account
You register with your own email address and a password. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and keep your email current so you can recover access. One person, one account; don't impersonate anyone else.
Using the platform
Be truthful. Submit only sightings you captured or are entitled to share, and don't misrepresent when, where, or how something was recorded. Don't upload abusive, illegal, or infringing content, and don't submit other people's private information. Reported content is hidden pending review.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to de-anonymise other observers or recover exact locations from published data; don't scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or its security controls; don't automate access except through interfaces we provide; and don't use the platform to harass others or to break the law. The single sensitivity control tunes noise rejection only — the detection physics are fixed and must not be misrepresented.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you capture. By sharing a sighting publicly you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content and its metadata for the purpose of operating the platform and presenting the shared record — including corroboration and public listings. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already made by others or required by law, and except that content another observer's corroboration depends on may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the rights needed to grant this.
Community
Votes and reports are tied to your account. Corroboration, trust, and credibility are computed automatically and are weighted to resist manipulation. Gaming the trust system, brigading votes, or abusing the reporting or voting tools may lead to account action.
Moderation and enforcement
Content that is reported may be hidden automatically pending review, and we may hide, remove, or restrict content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these terms. Where practical we act proportionately, but we don't guarantee to review every item or to reach any particular outcome.
No warranty
The platform is provided as-is and as-available for research and community observation. Classifications, corroboration, and identifications are best-effort, not guarantees, and must not be relied on as fact. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the platform. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You can stop using the platform and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or end access for conduct that violates these terms or that risks harm to other users or the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will update the version and effective date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
